The Youth Mentorship Worker is responsible for the development, coordination, and delivery of prevention-focused and early-intervention programming for youth, with a strong emphasis on youth leadership development and structured after-school programming. Working within the Youth Prevention framework, this role supports protective factors, reduces risk, and strengthens positive developmental outcomes for youth through culturally grounded, relational, and strengths-based approaches.
The Youth Mentorship Worker delivers youth prevention programming that includes individualized youth prevention plans, after-school leadership and skill-building activities, mandatory education series, Elder and cultural supports, and community-based youth prevention initiatives. Programming is designed to promote school engagement, positive peer relationships, cultural identity, healthy decision-making, and connection to family and community supports.
